With your proposal and any other research that you conduct, you will need to find resources to support your topic and then reference them in order to give credit where credit is due. Annotated bibliographies are typically used for academic research papers, but they can also be useful tools for professional reports and proposals. In an annotated bibliography, each reference includes an additional summary that describes the content and explains why the source is useful. In your summary explain why the source is included in the bibliography. As you summarize each source, make sure you identify the main idea that will be highlighted. Construct your summary around the meaning and value of each source and establish a connection of the source to the proposal. You must distinguish credible and accurate types of materials to support the main concept of the proposal and recognize the context of your sources.
For your annotated bibliography, include at least five sources, of which two must be from scholarly journals. To locate your sources, you will need to utilize effective search tools within the databases to distinguish relevant academic and professional sources.

Writing the Rough Draft
As you begin to move beyond your initial outline and summary, your next step will be drafting. Drafting is a very important step in the writing process, but by no means should it be considered the final stage. In it you should focus on putting as much on paper as you can including your Purpose Statement (though it may eventually change), your supporting evidence, and analysis of the evidence. It is less important to worry about having all the correct words and punctuation as it is to work hard to express as much as you can about the topic. When you have completed the Rough Draft, you should be 90% done with the Final Project.
If it helps, think back to when you drafted your purpose statement in your outline. How has your work up to this point worked toward solving the issue you have identified? What have you unearthed as you have dug into your topic? Addressing similar questions to those from the earlier assignment in your introduction may help you find direction in your draft:
What is the problem?
When does the problem occur?
Who and/or what does it affect?
What are the potential solutions for the problem?
How can you present the solution(s) in a fair way to your audience, respecting their perspective(s)?

Your title slide should include the following:
An appropriate title for your proposal presentation
The name of this course (in place of the name of the company preparing the proposal)
The author’s name
The date of the presentation
Purpose Statement (1-2 slides)
Include the purpose statement from your project. Add a reflective statement if you think you have fulfilled the purpose of the project.
Audience (1 slide)
Your slides should explain who the audience of your proposal includes and what their needs are.
Tell how you will overcome skepticism.
What objections do you anticipate?
Problem Section (2-3 slides)
Just as you did in the written proposal, you must prove that a serious problem exists. You may want to answer these questions about your problem:
How long has the problem existed?
Is it worse now? Why?
What are some relevant statistics?
What are other people doing to solve similar problems?
Original and Creative Solution Section (2-3 slides)
Your slides should briefly outline the change you propose and want approved. Your solution should be directly related to the problem you just documented and be appropriate to the audience you’ve described.
